After being off from Facebook for about 2 years I just realized I had no concrete reason to delete my first account. Teach Yourself How To Learn!
Let me share you a little story!
Yesterday I decided to go for a job search, I have never been in a working environment and I have no work experience. As I am doing second year in Accounting, I wanted to do a job shadow for a company. Whereby I will volunteer and give a hand, and my intentions were to expose myself into the business world.
I then decided to go to Allan Gray Investments Company, since I love money and investments talks, that was the first company to come into mind. I then met with the receptionist, a sweet and humble guy. I told him what I wanted and he said the company don’t do such things, unless you’re a graduate, I am not a graduate and I was cool with what he said.
When I was about to exit the place, he said, “let me give you a piece of advise“, and I thought he will talk about Financial Literacy, saving and investing of cash – since he work for the company. BUT I WAS WRONG. He said, “Teach Yourself How To Learn“, and for a moment my mind was all over the place, he continued and said, “Please learn how to adapt to new things, what you learn in school is totally different in the business world. What you learn now might be useless in 3 years time, the world is changing day by day”. And for a moment I was speechless and amazed, I thought some of the useless things we were studying, and I knew that maybe in 20 Years time people will be employed based on what they know, not what they think they know. Companies seek for competency, there come time where Qualifications will be useless.
